Senior Spotlight: Alyssa

When I asked Alyssa what she was most passionate about, without hesitation she replied, “Music!” It’s no surprise, then, that this musically talented senior plays three different instruments: the Baritone, Tuba and Percussion. In addition, at Falcon High School where she will begin her senior year this fall, Alyssa is in the Marching Band and Winter Guard (competing in Color Guard from January through March).AlyssaEblog1

Alyssa is a member of the Senior Planning Committee at Falcon and recently went on an amazing European trip with other high school students where they visited England, Scotland, Wales, and her favorite country, Ireland.

AlyssaEblog2Outside of school, Alyssa loves art, especially painting and drawing flowers and other still life, and reading Dystopian Fiction (The Hunger Games, etc.) She also joins in with her fellow tuba and euphonium players each year in Acacia park for Tuba Christmas. In this now somewhat internationally famous event, players from all ages unite to play Christmas carols and pay homage to the musicians who represent their collective tuba heritage.

Next year Alyssa will attend CSU Pueblo to pursue a degree as a child psychologist.AlyssaEblog3
