While Jeremiah has played many different instruments throughout his life, including the violin, trumpet and sax, for the last three years he has played the clarinet in the Rampart Regiment Marching Band. He is also the clarinet section leader. Band this year has been extra special as the Rampart Regiment just returned from a National Band Competition, in Flagstaff, Arizona, where they finished 9th. He is also in the Wind Ensemble, which is the highest level of band at Rampart.
Jeremiah has some very unique hobbies! One such hobby is baking pastries — and cheesecakes are his specialty. He also loves to drink coffee, and prefers a nice, dark roast that he makes himself. When he’s not making music with the different bands, baking, making or savoring coffee, this senior enjoys playing sand volleyball and chilling with his Beagle, Chloe.
Academics are extremely important to Jeremiah and he is in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society. When I asked him how his Spanish was, he modestly replied that he’s “relatively” fluent.
Jeremiah volunteers at his church with the youth group and overhead ministry technology (running the display screens and music) and helps the church with their annual Thanksgiving Dinner for the homeless.
Next year he wants to attend college, preferably out of state, to study biochemistry so that he can eventually become a medical doctor.
