Max — Marching for Success

Air Academy senior, Max, is very active with his AFJROTC (Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) unit. He is a Vice Wing Commander, and as such, is responsible for helping to lead his unit in a number of different activities. Max is also on the varsity AFJROTC Drill Team, which marches competitively against other teams, and placed 2nd in 2019 at the National competition in Ohio. The 2020 competition was cancelled due to Covid.

Max volunteers with the JROTC, and one local event they help with is a three-day trap shoot competition. He also helps at a dog adoption event for the San Luis Valley Animal Welfare Society, a No Kill animal shelter with a mission to improve the well-being of animals in the San Luis area, one of the poorest regions in Colorado.

In his spare time, Max helps a neighbor doing “odd jobs” for The School in the Woods, plays video games, hangs out with friends, goes paintballing, and enjoys all things Star Wars. In particular, he enjoys the tv shows that go along with the Star Wars movies, especially, “Mandalorian.” Finally, as a dog lover, he likes spending time with his two dogs, Kobe and Duke.

After graduation, Max plans to attend an in-state college to major in mathematics with a specialty in actuary science.
